Hey, first post and I know this is n00bish and all... but I flashed the BIOS to my 9550 Radeon I just bought (so i might be able to just return it to the store and say it was defective if you guys cant help me out). It's just a standard ATi I think, the box just said ATi on it and there was no other brand names or anything, card ID's in windows as Radeon 9550, and when i ran atiflash it just said it was unknown name and version or w.e it was so that kind of sketched me out... Anyways, it said it had Helix memory, well the BIOS on the Techpowerup site had it for a PAL Verison I believe (and Im in America, so thats of no use). Well i downloaded another 9550 verison that had samsung memory and ran the flash when I restarted graphics are all corrupt in a weird way like theres just a grid and theres big characters flashing on and off the screen, right now I'm on a pci card, but I tried then getting the Helix memory version, and It's still doing it, then I tried downloading the original Helix memory version and obviously it's still doing it. I have no clue what went wrong and now I feel like an ass because the BIOS wasn't backed up, I figured things wouldnt fuck up. And nothings overclocked or anything like that, its not that kind of graphic flaws like characters from charcter map and shit in windows just shows up on the screen even during posts, etc. making it almost impossible to read anything...
If anyone can help me I'd highly appreciate it, If we can't fix the problem I'll just fucking return it I guess
