View Full Version : Vista ate my dvd burner drive

Vista no longer recognize are will allow the dvd bunrer to be reinstalled. The drive is good just windows does not like it any more. Friends computer trying to help them out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.....

Check DVD support site for VISTA DRIVERS. Check device manager if it's there delete it. Then go to add new hardware. Should find it and be OK.

you tryed a differant IDE port or even checked the cables ?.

Not to sure how Vista is with removing and re adding hardware so cannot help you there...
