According to CoolTechZone (http://www.cooltechzone.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=1521) the $449.99 7800GT will be released during August's Quakecon 2005. Speculations have been going around for awhile about the specs of the card, and NVIDIA is keeping tight lipped about them, so I guess we wait and see.
It's possible there will be a week or so delay between launch and the availibility of retail cards, since it's believed NVIDIA is not going to do a "paper launch" this time around like they did with the GTX model. Although Quakecon seems to be an unlikely launch venue, considering NVIDIA is a key sponsor for the event this year. Due to the popularity of QuakeCon with print magazines and online publications, the company has a great opportunity for publicity
