recommend a good free ad blocker.

Ads, banner, flashes are making my surfing speed slow. I need an ad blocker but I dont have money. is there any good but free ad blocker?

fire fox it dose most of them ....lol and is a goood browser

I use IE6 and Opera. They're both 10x better than Firefox.

Personally I like firefox since I don't have to go around typing a billion passwords. But IE looks better, only advantage it has over firefox.

if you use Firefox the free of charge add on adblock plus is the one,

if you use opera - opera has a delicious built in feature so you can block ads yourself

if you use IE then you have to put up with those bloody hell annoying repeating noise animated adverts (and that is the reason why i stopped using IE)

try download for ie7 the ie7pro is very nice ie tool it have spell checker ad blocker text saver image saver(the hole page instead of html) youtube resizer y0ou can change the type that ie shown on server (like to transform it to opera on unix or on solaris) right click go to site... etc it makes the ie about a 100x better

this thread is not a place for a fight between which browser is better, this thread is for telling hiddenstupid good ad blocking methods. i personally recommend getting firefox w/ adblock extension.

i personally am a firefox user, and do not use ie7/opera/ie core based browsers cause of this: http://www.microsuck.com/content/ms-hidden-files.shtml

i have to agree i stopped using opera because the interface just isn't polished enough, it is quite scruffy when compared to its rivals but it is a very good browser.

HS, try this and see if it will do what you want:

No extra software and it stops ads in their tracks. Just rename your original Hosts file to Hostsold or something and you can switch back in a few seconds. In my opinion an edited Host file is mandatory.
