Matrox Graphics announced a PCI Express X1 graphics card, which could be used by servers. The Millennium G550 PCIe uses a PCI Express x1 slot, originally designed for I/O peripherals, and it is based on Matrox G550 technology, has also DualHead support for using 2 digital or analog monitors at a time. Matrox said that servers and other enterprise devices commonly use the X16 slot, normally used for PC-class graphics, for other purposes.

Matrox Millennium G550 PCIe graphics card will be available in August 2005 at a list price of $139
