ok i have a question wat version of Vista sould i get?
i'm planing to get Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate X64
i also want to do a dual boot option thingy
like first harddisk windows xp 32bit second harddisk windows vista 64bit

If you're installing onto that system you have, I'm not sure if your P4 supports 64-bit. Also, running Vista on an older P4 with 768mb ram wouldn't be a good experience. If I were you, I would upgrade before you get Vista.

Don't even bother with the 64 bit Vista. Unless you are running some high-end applications that require a 64bit OS, it's an utter waste of time. Oh yeah, P4's are not 64bit.

i'm getting a new mainboard and new ram 3gb-4gb
Make sure your new motherboard has vista drivers.

You need a new CPU too, P4's are no good for Vista. They also don't support 64-bit.

I would also borrow a vista install cd and install it (with out activation key ='s trail )of like two weeks ...test it out and see if thats truely what you want .
