Hi guys.

I just finished some reading on Nvidia's Linkboost technology.
I have a Nforce 590 SLI board and a Nvidia 8800 card. So according to this:

NVIDIA's flagship nForce 590 SLI MCP's include NVIDIA LinkBoost technology which automatically increases bandwidth by up to 25% when select NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards are detected. This feature currently only works with the 7900GTX and is activated automatically as soon as a supported video card is detected. This means the normal 100 MHz speed of the two PCIe links is increased to 125 MHz and the normal 200 MHz HT link is increased to 250 MHz. When LinkBoost is detected, it is automatically activated without user intervention and displayed clearly in the system POST screen.

I should be able to use it but there is nothing in my postscreen or bios saying anything about this.
Another point is that increasing the pce e linkspeed is not a smart thing to do. According to some TPU members.:D If so maybe 5 MHz tops i read here.
But what Nvidia is saying that it's ok to up it 25MHz:confused:

So anyone know something about this Linkboost stuff?

this was one of the main reasons at the time why i got a 590 mobo asus (i think) removed it from m2n32 sli dlx but there still gpu-ex which is similar but to do with drivers instead i believe link boost was available on the very first bios revision

Yeah i feel kinda itchy about it to but as you can see here.

This is not on my board but on a Foxconn i believe.
If the option is available then it should be logical that it's clearly displayed in the bios on all boards that support it. like on this one. Asus:nutkick:

Check this review, Here. (http://www.pcper.com/article.php?type=expert&aid=300)

More in depth info on that feature, from my understnding Linkboost is always enabled as soon as Nvidia card is detected. The bios options available are numerous(peg link,nb voltage,sb voltage, and PCI-e bus freq up to 200!? -more).

I run at 118, anything higher will make my raid array fail. I do wish I could use such a feature though,

What ever happend to Linkboost? Is it still used? If I get a new motherboard with a 8800GT will linkboost raise the fsb? or was it a 7800 only feature?
