Hello, and welcome to the long-awaited 45th news post of the Battlegroup Frontlines mod! We have been so busy testing and bug-fixing that we have neglected our news posts, and we apologize for that. Hopefully, the content of this week`s news will make up for that
First up, we have a finished map to show you this week. This is a conversion of the Battlegroup42 map, Dnieper River, made originally by Huskerpat and converted to BF2 by Panzaman. The static placement, textures, and under/overgrowth were done by takiwa.
The battle was fought on 10th July, 1941, when the German Panzergruppe 2 (under the command of Heinz Guderian) reached the Dnieper River. Feldmarschall Günther von Kluge ordered Guderian, to hold his position until the German infantry could catch up. But Guderian didn’t wait for the reinforcements and established a bridgehead across the river Dnieper. However, his supplies were running thin...
This map utilizes a gamemode called "Reinforcements". As the Germans capture forward flags, they will be rewarded by reinforcing vehicle spawns at their main base (not at the flag they just captured). These reinforcements must be moved forward to defend the newly captured flags, because if they lose a CP, they lose the reinforcement spawns as well!

That was a nice map, wasn`t it? But that isn`t the BIG news for this week. We will finally answer the most-asked question from our fans...when will we release? We have been developing BGF since 1 April 2006, when we first announced the merger between Battlegroup2, Frontlines, and Warfront. We have put together 17 internal builds, and went through numerous staff changes in the last 18 months. Sometimes things went smoothly, and other times they were rough. But we have finally reached a point in development where we are comfortable enough with our mod to release it to the public. We can`t put an exact day on the release yet, but we will give you a definite month.
It’s the upcoming month…….November!
That`s right, sometime in the next 7 weeks, you will be playing BGF on a server near you! So stay tuned to our website and forums over the coming weeks, to get more information on our release date!
I JUST CANT WAIT!
