Both come just like new and include the box with all original parts and HSFs and have not been registered!

I've a friend who may well be very interested in one, he has a crossfire board but if you had no luck with them I imagine he won't bother with buying both. If DaMulta has an eye on your VF700 I will show my mate the Sapphire.

i can tell you exactly why you could not get them working in crossfire. both cards lack the rage theater chip. in order for crossfire to work, you need at least one card with a rage theater chip, and if you only have one card with the chip it must be set to the master.

See if you can get one for trade through craigslist or something? Would probably be more worthwhile to have these in Xfire then to sell them both. Or, why not sell whichever goes first - then get a one with the theatre chip?

nah I'm just liquidating, I got my Samsung 245BW today and boy is it a monster!
I'm going to see how the 1900XTX 512 I got does at 1920x1200 when I get it in and if it's not up to par at this high a resolution I'll be going with a 2900Pro 1GB :)

Check if the PCB is the same and flash one card with other card BIOS so both cards will have same bios. This should work in CF.

I'm pretty sure the Rage Theater chips(which provides VIVO capabilities IIRC) also contains the workings for Crossfire, so one of the cards needs to have it. ATI did this to remove the need for a Master Crossfire card like their other X and X1K series cards. It really does suck that ATI and HIS both cheaped out and didn't include it.

I don't remember you saying it was the chip used for VIVO, what the chip did, or what it even did for crossfire. All you said is that it was required. So thanks for not actually providing any useful information in the first place.
