I have a 2GB kit (2x1GB) DDR2-800, both sticks check out in memtest but my system will boot into windows only if I have 1 stick installed, and it doesnt matter which stick or which slot theyre plugged into.

The memory model# is T800UX2GC4 and brand is supertalent. My motherboard is the GeFOrce6100M-SM. This is a rather large inconvenience because with vista and other programs/games running the system slows down I think it resorts to virtual memory which bottlenecks performance largely.

When i try booting into vista with 2 sticks installed it gets past the Microsoft Windows Vista screen with the green progress bar like thing then goes to black screen. If i boot to safe mode with 2 sticks, it gets to safe mode and then hangs with no mouse movement after i start pressing buttons.

Anyone?

If you have not already done so go into the bios and manually set your memory settings (voltage and timings). I had this problem recently with one of my machines. With "auto" settings the machine was very unstable. The machine was previously stable with "auto" but I upgraded from 2-4 Gigabytes of memory and changed all of the sticks. It would not run with the new memory. After manually setting the voltages and timings everything was fine.

have U try to ClearCMOS?
maybe the problems is not on your memory, but rather on your Mobo. I suppose U use ECS 6100SM-M, right? if this does not bother you, try your memory on to another rig/machine, and then see what happens
