I just got invited to the beta for Hellgate London :rockout:. However, is there any reason I should download/beta the game knowing that the demo is already released?

Well, I'm downloading the beta client now. All I can say is it's freaking huge... The first file is 2.33gb, and the second is 2.0gb.

To be honest, I don't think I'll be betaing the game... It's so close to launch that I don't think it's worth downloading and betaing. I'll just wait for the launch; the demo was kickass and brought me back to the Diablo days, I'm for sure buying Hellgate.

I think the beta is fun so far. Pretty much a FPS/MMOrpg in the Diablo2 vein as far as normal/rare/special item drops/mobs go. Decent graphics considering the MMO part.

Can't say much due to the NDA, but it's nice. It will be well worth it once the game comes out.

the game is pretty nice but it's definitely not as good as wow

yeah, it's pretty much the same setup as DiabloII, not an open MMO like W0W.

There's even a one-legged kid who you have to get a prosthetic for LOL, his name isn't Wirt but something really similar.

The NDA has been lifted now for beta, so any comments are now allowed :)

I got a beta invite too but after hearing others saying the demo wasn't worth it I didn't feel like trying it out lol. Maybe other the weekend i'll give it a go.

I REALLY like the game personally. I will be getting it when it comes out. Think guild wars crossed with Diablo 2.

As will I. Very fun gun, takes me back to the Diablo days.

I just checked out the demo, it's pretty limited in re: to only 2 classes available, and unless I was missing something, it's WAY short, just the first few missions.

I'd be pretty unimpressed as well if I just played the demo, as the beta goes way deeper.

I loved what little of the game that they let us play in the demo. It reminded me of 28 Weeks Later mixed with Diablo, and a hint of Dungeon Siege. You can't really ask for a better combination... One thing is for sure though, the game is very system demanding.
