I have an ASUS M2NPV-VM MB with AMD Athlon XP Dual Core 5200+, 4 gigs 800mhz corsair ram. I purchased a 2900 Pro video card and it doesn't fit in the motherboard.

I'm looking for a good AM2 MB/CPU combo that will for sure fit the 2900 card in it. I don't want to do this by trial and error and didn't have much success with googling (as this is a pretty new card, though I'm not sure how it compares in size to the XT I'd assume it's the same or very similar). I already had to buy a new power supply, kind of sucks I have to buy a new MB and CPU to accomodate my card.

I'm looking to spend about $100-150 on the MB, and max $150 for the CPU. What's my best bet that will work with the 2900 Pro (or is there another way around this?)

Thanks!

Well.....I've seen pics of your Mobo and I don't see any reason why the 2900Pro won't fit...You have a PCI-E based Mobo....you bought a PCI-E based Video card....Pictures of your Mobo Indicate there should be plenty of room to Install the card...Unless your running some 3inch wide southbridge cooler.

Come back with More Info please.....how doesn't It fit?

It looks like it would fit but it won't lock down because of the ide cable, and it covers and presses too hard against the sata drive connectors, it's just too tight of a squeeze.

I ended up getting a M2N32-SLI board, fits great
