View Full Version : Any way to lazily access this computer?
I only have one monitor, keyboard, mouse... I have a second computer but only the basic things it needs to be a folding rig, power cable, cat5, that's it.
I want to know if I can access this computer from my main so I don't have to switch monitor/mouse/keyboard every time. It's a pain in the ass and back. If it matters, this computer is directly connected to my main computer (my motherboard has 2 LAN ports).

install xp pro and use remote desktop. My second rig is nothing but usb ports, an ethernet, and power.
XP home on both, and I have to legit XP pro. Remote desktop is out of the question.
kvm switches cost money.
I think I will just let itself do what it wants to. It should have no issues. Only 90% cpu useage specified. I also configured my main rig to run two instances of F@H. I'm gonna gain some mad points for our team. I have 3 instances going on at home, I have a Canadian internet buddy who might run it, my grand will run it if it ever connects to the Intenet, and my uncle just might run it. My uncle has 3 good computers for running this... he has one with a PD 3.4, one with an Athlon 2800+, and a Dell with an E2160 I believe... 1.6GHz.

As long as the computer you want to access is PRO you are set. Home has the client, but not the server end.
WTF logmein is not free... it's telling me "you have 30 days left to use your remaining 120 minutes"
.....
damn...
I could not get VNC to work.

I use vnc to do that sort of thing. You`d have to hook up the monitor to install the server program but after that you`re good to go.To state the obvious ,the network connection between these two computers is working , right?
I got logmein working properly. I have it set up to the free subscription... I didn't catch that. Thanks!!

:toast::toast::toast::toast::toast:so do ya like it? cant ask for an easier set up...and if you are at work you can config the logmein to use java or even html ,the default is activeX though....:rockout:
Yeah, it's great. I was working on my 500MHz celeron rig, configging it some more from my grand's :rockout:
Most user-friendly program I've ever used :)

I would say to use realvnc, I used it to connect my 2 windows rigs and it worked perfectly with almost no setup.

Problem was already solved :toast:
