Simply put, I want something that's faster than my x1950pro for newer games in DX9, and it seems a x1950xt or x1900xt(x) would probably suit my needs just fine w/o breaking the bank. I would be willing to trade my x1950pro/X2 Cooler + Cash or possibly purchase. I've seen some good deals pass earlier this month, but had no money at that time, now they're gone...
I was reading up on the x1950xtx, but I dunno if paying extra for GDDR4 in that card is really worth it compared to a GDDR3 xt version. Insight/Suggestions welcome. I'm still searching for deals, if anybody knows of a deal, please post here if you would. My budget is in the $150-ish area atm, so I know that limits me. Thanks for your time!

used or new?

Preferrably new, but since those are scarce since they are pretty much all EOL or have been, I'm sure used is the way I'm gonna have to go.

Why not save up and get one of the DX10 cards, they are killer at DX9 apps and a much better upgrade from an x1950Pro? The jump from an x1950Pro to an x1950XT doesn't seem worth the $150.

True, I would be selling my x1950pro anyways. And from what I've seen in the $150 price range won't quite match my 1950pro, sure they do good at DX9, and can come close, I've heard a 2600xt gddr4 can surpass on some occasions. I do agree with you newtekie, but I will make some money back on my 1950pro so I won't be out $150 for too long and that makes it more doable for me right now than going for a DX10 card that would suit my wants of a next gen card.
Thanks for the input man!

Well...
I'd have to know if you wanted it with teh stock HIS ICEQ3 cooler or if you wanted it with teh HR-03 w/mc-14 ramsinks. It will take some work to put the stock cooler back on (clean up the AS adhesive and buy some thermal pad replacements).
Let me know what you're interested in, then we can talk turkey.

END of WTB Session, at least for the moment. I just happened to snag an x1950XTX for $170 incl/s&h, it was a friend of a friend (ya know how that goes!), and so it seems to good to be true, we'll soon enough find out when it arrives. I couldn't pass up that deal, but if it doesn't work out, I've had a couple of great offers from TPU here! Again thanks everyone for your support! And if all goes as planned, my Powercolor x1950pro eXtreme 256mb w/AC X2 Cooler will be for sale shortly! :D
Again thanks everyone, and wish me luck on my new purchase! :toast:

Wowsers!!! $170 shipped for a x1950XTX....:D
Good for you!
Please, do let us know how it works out for you!
p.s. Would this happen to be one of DaMulta's old cards?
Kursah

Nope, not a DaM card, I tried to get one from him when he got the 2900's, but he'd already sold em!
I am excited, but trying to keep level headed and not hope too much just in case things don't work out...I have really crap luck sometimes. Hehe.
If it doesn't work out Dr. S, I'll be in contact with you! :D

Damn I'm excited! LoL! This will be the first top-of-the line card (even if a previous generation) I've ever owned! Sure I had an x850xt pe, but that was a modded Pro. I think this card will take care of my needs until I can afford a good midrange card early next year.
It was sent out today, so hopefully by Thurs/Friday I get it...I still can't believe the price I got on it! I am just hoping everything works out!

still doesn't beat my 1900XTX Toxic w/ vf900-cu for $125 shipped :D

True, but I'm stoked either way! :D And in the end, I still got a damn good deal IMO! :toast:
And it was the best price I could find after hours of searching and such, I found that the 1900/1950xtx's are grabbing quite nice prices atm, I found a 1900xtx on [H] for 165 shipped, but the kid was flakey, and hasn't responded after the initial response to my inquiry. I think I'll be plenty happy with this card, and sure it was a little over budget, I was able to pull it off without too much fuss from the ol' lady!
When it arrives, I'll be testing and getting things going! If all goes well, I'll have to prep my 1950Pro and all the crap that came with it for selling! Debating on keeping it as a "just in case card" as it's been really good to me. We'll see what happens!

Well it just showed up! I gotta let it thaw out as it's very cold from being in the cool climate, at points below freezing, then I'm gonna inspect for moisture. So far it looks in excellent shape as pictured, the guy packaged it very well. It will be hooked up soon!
Now I'm debating maybe selling my x1950pro...dunno, it's been a great card, still content with how well it performs for it's class, and hell it runs cool. It was an OEM from Newegg, and the only thing it didn't have compared to the retail version was the box, everything else was in there. One of the best OEM purchases I've ever made.
