I'd have to agree. A used system is almost always going to be worth less than the sum of its parts. Depending on the market in your area it might bring a bit more or a bit less. You'll almost always get more by breaking one up and selling it piecemeal either on a forum or fleabay.
The average user doesn't have the knowledge to care about what parts are inside it, they are looking at perceived value. With Dell and others selling new systems for ~$300.00 it's going to be difficult to persuade them that yours is superior even if it is. Good Luck though.

With a setup like that though, i can almost gaurentee that it would sell parted out. and get much more out of it than 300 or so.

You'll not get much at all for it as a system. Significantly more ebayed as components - bit more hassle though.

If that was to end up on Ebay, I'd start the bidding at $250 and expect it to get around $350-$500.

Well are just those parts being sold, as you could make money off the psu, fans and hsf's aswell (not much, but it would add up)

I'd give you $275 shipped for tower. $350 if it includes a monitor, $375 - 450 if includes speakers/mouse/kb, dependent on speakers.
