Every teenager goes through developments, and I am no exception. I recently noticed the way my mind was developing recently, by flipping through a FVIII guide book of all things. Being able to pronounce words I just looked at and skipped as a kid, being able to understand the plot. Looking deeper, I am understanding the meaning behind lyrics in music, and retaining information from books much better than I did as a kid.

Looking at these things, I am appriciating my mind maturing and being able to understand the games I played as a kid, but barely looked at the storyline and plowed through with the aid of a guide book. Being able to understand lyrics in music. Being able to retain events in books really helps when reading it as well rather than just rolling through it.

I know there are quite a few teens on this board, and I ask you, do any of you feel it?

I remember all that starting to occur.. Great days are coming and a whole new world of experiences.

And yes, very much so.

I'm getting better at understanding most things, but I can't understand lyrics in music. It just sounds like warbling to me.

Just don't start smoking the green stuff for a better understanding.
It makes you think your'e understanding even better by making nonsense seem like sense.:p

Although I do have a mate who does smoke the green and he is a dentist.
Passsed all his exams 89% plus.
Until he took usage a step up to pure mescal, thought he was god for a while and now he does nothing.:shadedshu
All that talent fried.

weed is the devil! guy at work is obviously intelligent but he smokes the stuff 24/7 and he just has no common sense what so ever. very annoying.

however i have found myself using words that i wouldnt have really used a year ago - all because ive gone back to school. never let your brain rest - its like a muscle it has to be used for it to be maintained

Don't waste your mind on drugs. I went to a alternative high school and was amazed to see kids who were smart in the pre-teens with minds that remained that way. Now they are gas station attendants and work at Wal-Mart and think they are cool when they get a .25 raise or promoted to department manager.

You don't need to tell me to stay away from drugs man... my dad smokes the green, and he thinks F@H is really a backdoor for the people at Stanford to get into our network :/

Nothing wrong with priding yourself for any achievement you make in life. Maybe they are working in those jobs because they've not decided what to do with their career yet, and at least they are working. Aside from being able to explain what it is like to have it happen to you, I am pretty sure I have a good understanding of marijuana and how it can fuck up your mind. I've just hit 20 and I have been looking after my 24 year old brother for the last 6 months as our parents have both given up on him.
I wish that more people appreciated intelligence and common sense, because then I'd find it a bit more relaxing if I decide to go into Sydney. When you come across a mass population that has the combined common sense as a brain damaged moth it's rather frustrating.

There are many types of intelligence though, and I'm one of those people who believe that private schooling or university degrees doesn't necessarily make someone smart.

Very true.

Most of the students who go to those schools end up working for thier parents businesses and give them a head start on a silver platter.
My cousin has a masters in criminology yet she lost it all due to drugs.
She can't work too long now before she gets some sort of anxiety issue.

All my mates are pot users except me and most of the girls I hang with.
I guess it's a man thing to do in my township.
Anyway by the age of 18 I quit all that nonsense and since the age of 19 I have been a qualified music teacher.
It's sort of sad to see my mates still in idle.

They talk about intellectual converstation infront of the girls, then I ellaborate on the subject and they stop talking.
If your'e going to impress someone, make sure you really know what your'e talking about.

So don't give in to peer pressure kids.
