NEC is going to introduce entirely new Super Multi-format DVD burner, which will support 16x recording speed for DVD-RAM. The new DVD writer will have NEC's LSI for 16x DVD-RAM (http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/News/Details.aspx?NewsId=14261). LSI chip supports 16x speeds of recording for all DVD formats, including DVD±R/RW and DVD-RAM, and it's in final stage of production. NEC ND-4550A ATAPI multi-burner will write all single-layer DVD blanks as well as DVD-RAM. There's going to be and slim version of ND-4550A, codenamed: ND-7550A . Both burners will support the LightScribe media labeling feature, and will be available this September.
