Its funny you say that, his contract is up in January and it sounds like they don't want to pay him what he's asking...so he may be out of a job yet.
According to him, he was on XM and clearchannel, killed a hog (used fake sound effects) and got fired from both FM and XM.
Sirius picked him up (he was un-employed for about 2 years), and helped him get his crew together...Satellite radio makes my 1 hour commute bearable...barely
They are funny as ever....and even on the 'un-censored' airwaves of satellite, they still get sh*t on. No more tazers, shocking the 'puss', shit in the fan, or 'bubbagon' fights. The lawyers keep saying something about 'liability'

not big on US metal - IMO, US metal has for the most part been shite for the last 10 years or so.
Fav metal bands that I listen to are all from Europe:
Samael, Arcturus, Dissection, Cradle of Filth, Emperor, Peccatum, Dimmu Borgir, My Dying Bride, Mortiis, DarkThrone, just to name a few . . .
also big on industrial/anything
Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy, Spahn Ranch, Fear Factory, Static-X, Mortiis, Dope Stars Inc, Ministry, FMTA, Mindless Self Indulgence, Silent Alarm, etc.

meh . . . I picked up their first album when it was still $9.99 and long before anyone knew who they were . . . wasn't much impressed - too generic for me.
Only american metal I really listen much to anymore is Static-X, Ministry, Six Feet Under, SLAYER, Pantera, Grip INC, Chemlab, Strapping Young Lad, GWAR, and some other older, more original acts . . . honestly, I just find modern american metal to be too cookie-cutter anymore. Everyone sounds the same . . .

SP kick ass - I was really big listening to them back in 94 or so. A buddy of mine then was really big on FLA, we kinda swapped bands  I introduced him to SP and he's ben a devout listener, and he introed me to FLA (who have become my #1 fav group). Don't get me wrong, I still listen to SP (cause no one can keep a rythm like Cevin). But, If you really like SP, give a listen to FLA, you'll prob like it. FLA tend to be more aggressive, heavier and atmospheric - compared to SP's more ambient, abstract style. Check out http://www.mindphaser.com if yer interested in FLA and the rest of Bill Leeb's numerous projects.
As for Ministry - friggin awesome. It's bee how many years and they still haven't lost their edge? I still consider Psalm 69 to be one of the best albums . . . ever.
At the moment, I'm listening to me learning how to play the guitar
keep at it, man! I know it can be frustrating sometimes, but everyone gets better in time! I used to play years ago - but had to sell my two wicked-ass customs cause I had some bils that needed to get paid . . . I just haven't had the money to buy another setup in years :( Never got into a band back during my HS days, either . . . I taught myself how to play by emulating the styles of Emperor, Dissection, Cradle of Filth and Metallica, mostly. I was intricate and fast . . . enough so that most people around here couldn't keep up with me - but me heavy, metallic style I had just wasn't what anyone was looking for with their band :(

Tool is actually my fav band.
And I also taught myself guitar (and drums, thus the Tool obsession). But I just picked up a guitar and a book of chords, and started writing my own stuff. Never really bothered to purposely learn anybody else's songs. The ones I do know, I just heard, and automatically knew how they played it.
I also love industrial. No boundaries. I really like that. Creativity and uniqueness are 2 of my top requirements for choosing a band (or hot front women. Lacuna Coil, ftw!!)
I also do music production and live sound on the side.
Here's one of my Industrial projects I'm helping to produce. http://www.myspace.com/destructionoftheshellofficial
Note that the page hasn't been updated since last year. He lost his pass, and changed ISPs, so he can't get his pass sent to him, as the email is now dead. The songs have progressed much further.

That's too funny!

To an extent, yeah. Black metal has become kinda ridiculous over the last few years - at least since CoF have gotten much bigger. When I started listening to most of these bands, they were all original and innovative, but a lot of the newer euro acts sound like what's already been done. I guess, that's why I never got onto more bands than those I listed :D
It's sad that Arcturus have disbanded, as with Emperor and Peccatum. Sad the lead guitarist/singer for Dissection killed himself . . . Cradle hasn't released a decent album in 6 years now, and it sounds like all they've been doing is recycling their material. Dimmu . . . well, who knows with them! Samael, though, still blow my mind with every new release - defi original and different, and sadly they don't get enough credit for it.
I also love industrial. No boundaries. I really like that. Creativity and uniqueness are 2 of my top requirements for choosing a band (or hot front women. Lacuna Coil, ftw!!
industrial is defi that . . . although, a lot of the newer EBM acts are mirror-image and a little too emoish. At least FLA and SP keep showing them how it's supposed to be done :D
