Mg(NO2)2
what is this? i can't find it. i'm doing my chemistry and i'm stuck! i seriously don't know. ive been looking for about 30min
Mg is magnesium, N is nitrogen, and O is oxygen so NO is nitrogen oxide (i think) but i don't know what the (2)2 is unless it's Magnesium (iv) Nitrogen Oxide

I don't know much, but from what I can figure out that means Magnesium (Nitrous Dioxide) then whatever the two means. At least, using what I know, that is. Not much, I'm 13.

He's right. NO2- is the nitrite ion, two of them with with magnesium Mg2+ -> magnesium nitrite.
dammit with i could do superscripts and subscripts here.

And yes it is correctly Magnesium Nitrite Mg(NO2)2

no prob, anything else feel free to ask, I have a degree in chemistry. Not that that means I know anything, but I do find gratification in trying to work out chemical stuff.
