We've been evacuated from home on Monday. Over 500,000+ evacuees. They finally allowed some of us to go home today. Thank god our home's okay. Sadly our friends' homes some got burn completely, and some got burn part of it. The fires are still there, only a few stopped. They're still working on them. Hopefully this nightmare will end soon for everyone. :(

wow, thats crazy. hope all ends up ok for you all. This is why im glad I live in Nevada, not much to burn out here. Not to glamourize but those pics are cool. The smoke from the last fire in Cali came all the way over here. I was sitting by the pool drinking beer with ashes falling on me.

Yea, the air polution over here is terribly bad. All of the particles and ashes can go into your lungs by passing your defense system easily and can make you sick. We have to wear masks if we ever need to go on the street or even driving. They sugested us to stay in home and turn on the TV. Those without a home after they returned back home can stay at one of the evacuation centers or hotels or friend's house and wait for the info.

We have these same problems where we vacation. We go up to Montana, and almost every summer, fire, one year, it was miles away, and the smoke was so bad we could not see 50 ft in clearly in front of us.

We have a different problem over on the east coast.

It's always so humid. You can hardly get to sleep without feeling that you're swimming in something icky :(.

the day they evacuate us, I didn't even know. Until a police officer knock on the door and asked us to gather our documents. They only gave us 5 mins to get ready. I grabbed my pictures, passport, and the PSP and some medicine and couple of shirts and pants. I was kinda in shock mode so dont' know what to grab. My roomate grabbed his and we left in our own cars to the evacuation center 10 miles away. I was scared my desktop will melt when I get back.. luckily our area is safe from the fire.
