Finally.. after being unemployed since early June I have a job again!

This is the first week of my new title, "Computer Sales Associate" at my local Best Buy. Now some of you may be wondering, "Why not Geek Squad?". That's easy, Geek Squad is boring repetitive work with morons (stupid customers) and inevitability results in ignorant customers screaming at you.

However in Computer sales I get to walk around all day selling computers and don't have to deal with angry people. ;)

You want to know what the best part is...? Employees only pay a 5% markup on products. $1100 HDTV's cost me $725.. car audio is over 55% off.. $80 6ft HDMI cables only cost me only $4!! A 875VA, 525W UPS that retails at $122 only costs me $53!

What kind of pay/benefits? I need a new job, and I think an hour long drive might be worth getting away from Micro Center.

What did they require of you to get hired? I'm looking to work at bestbuy once I turn 18, I've already been questioned by a computer sales guy about working there.

This and next month are really big for hiring for the christmas season. You can get a job without much difficulty. But there is a short supply and a large demand. So first come first serve.

I make $8 and with holiday season I should at least get 30 hours a week. I'm currently just part time and seasonal, but I'd like to full time after the holidays.

Because of the season they had people outside handing out flyers to apply online, and under 24hrs of applying I had an interview and was hired. My resume isn't too awe inspiring, about a year in fast food but I did work for a small PC shop for over a year until they went under.. so apparently that got me the job. :toast:

In short, yay for me. :)
