Just wondering if it is ok to replace to the thermal compound on my gts 8800. i want to take it out and clean it up real quick and replace it with some ceramique or as5??

I changed the thermal compound on my SAPPHIRE Radeon 9600pro from the stock to Ceramique.

and it works.

Dont use AS5. Ceramique or nothing. AS5 is capacitive, and can fry your card. It also dries out after long periods of use.

MX-2 is the way to go. Honestly though I've tried 3 different pastes and stock worked best for me right out of the box. The AS5 I currently have on it actually works the best, but after 3 months.
