Hi,
Is it possible to overclock your CPU in the same way you would a graphics card (ie not in DOS mode) ???? If yes what program would this be?
Thanks :)

It depends on your motherboard. Some motherboard manufacturers provide overclocking utilities with the included software. If you have an NForce2 or NForce3 motherboard you can try NVIDIA Forceware (http://www.nvidia.com/object/sysutility_1.0) . Otherwise, there's CPUCool (http://www.podien.onlinehome.de/CPUCOOL.HTM) . You really should do some more research into overclocking via your BIOS and then stress testing in Windows. Overclocking via your BIOS is the best way to go about OC'ing your CPU, hands down.

you might also want to try "cpu-z" from www.cpuid.com

XP2000+ user here!
1. I use BIOS to OC
2. I use CPU-Z to check my OC and stuff, MbM for temp monitoring
3. Max attained speed for me is 1.9GHz @ 1.8V (220FSB)
4. And F@H is a good stability test.

Some bios are not all that EZ to OC (like mine!) I had to search the iternet for a "pin mod" (REAL EZ) to set the internal multiplier on the CPU (I chose x14) my bios does let me set the FSB (100,133,166 or 200) I also can increase the default vcore voltage, but only in steps (+6%, 12% or 14&)
Right now I'm running my 2000+ Barton @ 2.33ghz or 3400+ (14x166) and I just lowered the Vcore volts to 1.66 and is still running stable. If I can get a little more cooling, I think I can get 2.8ghz (14x200) or 4000+!!!

Download clockgen, it can adjust your FSB while in windoze.
Though when u find a nice clock to run at you should adjust it in your BIOS.

gorgerax - NF7-S2 should allow you to set the FSB in 1mhz increments! >> http://www.phoronix.com/images/picture.php?id=28&image=abit_nf7s2_bios1_lrg

The NF7-S2 is not the same as the NF7S V2.

I'm aware of that - that's why I posted an NF7-S2 bios screenshot...
