from memory I had my old 2500 barton at around 2350mhz on an NF-7S... that was a great little setup. You plugged everything in and it just worked... no bsods or mem problems eva... what a board that was

thats the board i had. 2x256mb of ram, 450MHz or something... really snappy, and it even came with a sata to IDE adaptor! sweet accesory (EG, plug it into the back of a IDE hard drive, and it converted it to being SATA 150)

as far as my Concerns, I dont think the motherboard i have can take much more with some components being bare such as the Volt Regs for the CPU and Ram.

2.6/2.7 seem the top a Athlon XP will obtain, 3.1 sounds farfetched, My CPU i tried getting to 2.4 recently had it at 2.39 it BSOD so i believe with the mobo being bare as it is, i dropped back to 2.35 which is still respectable for a 1.8GHz Chip that is Considered Old School by todays standards.

i had 2.9 out of my old mobile chip, but obviously didnt run it like that for any length of time (i dont like vantec tornado's) i usually kept to 2.4-2.6 for gaming etc

I use my old AthlonXP 2500+ right now, it is 50c on idle, so no ocing for me :)
but it is just a stock cooler, yet I do not need any extra power from CPU, my GeForce FX 5200 isn't far ahead :D
