Hi.
I already read the Thread about OC/Test programs but I saw a various tests saying that X benchmark software is not reliable and things like that.
So, I want to benchmark my rig and I want to know what SW may I use????
thanx for the replies.

3dmark06 ,aquamark, cpumark are some popular ones.

Ok, I'll try one, thanx.

alot of people use 3dmark. i tried that but found out how my rig compared poorly and it depressed me so beware! lol

Ha!, I think my rig isn't powerful too.....so, I'll be depressed too

I use Aquamark as a base test for before and after overclocking, since it's fairly short and scores the CPU and GPU seperately. I also have found that in Vista, the CPU score is a lot lower than in XP, but the final score is very close.
I also use 3dMark 05/06, but both can take quite a few minutes. Both can help you compare to similar systems, but I have found that those programs don't always properly detect hardware, speeds, drivers, but the overall score can help you identify how well your PC can bench.
In the end, if a game can run to your likings, scores don't matter as much. :toast:

throw in lightsmark to it is quick and pretty good as far as gpu goes
also superpi, wprime are good tests

Throw it out the window. See how far it goes.

i recommend from the top story of an apartment building it will bounce higher
I use:
SuperPI (1M): Determine system performance excluding graphics card. A short benchmark.
Everest Benchmark Tab: In Everest, there's a benchmark option. This does a test to see how good your read/write/latency is. This will tell you if you need to overclock your memory some more or tighten timings, etc. It's a short benchmark.
AquaMark3: Determine overall system performance including graphics card. It's short compared to 3DMark.

Thanx pals, Now I have a more clear idea what program I should pick to bench my rig.....in the next days I'll post my results, hope It will be decent.

IMO the best all around system performance bench (less graphics) is Sceincemark 2, It tests the CPU instructions set, CPU cache access, floating point, integer, encyrpt, decrypt and many more processes, it is also a test of HDD access times and memory bandwidth and latency.
For a grapics test where you want the CPU to be the least factor then 3D Mark 2003 or 2005, if you want the CPU to be a large factor then 2006, Aquamark is essentially a DX8 upto DX 9A test and TBH is a little outdated now as I dont beleive it actually tests SM3 or HDR.

Tatty is right about Aquamark, and it's dated bench features for sure. And his suggestions are dead on. It kind of depends on what exactly you want to find out about your PC's scoring in these different tests.
But I like to use aquamark as a quick comparison between stock and OC'd, tweaked settings, etc. I'll use the 3dmarks here and there, but I rely on actually using my gaming machine for games to see if I can enjoy the performance demands I want and the visuals I want. If not, OC more if stable, tweak settings, etc.
