hi,
i have this rig:
Core 2 Dou E6600 @3.2Ghz
Asus P5B
2x1GB DDRII 800 CL4 OCZ REAPER
7300GT
580W PSU
and hand made water cooling for cpu, under 3hours of 100% load max temp is 39 grad celsius :rockout:

well i do stuff that requires lots of processing power, my cpu is now @3.2Ghz 359x9 , and the problem is i cant go any further, FSB 360 than says OC failed :( well i tryed everything higher cpu voltage nb sb and everything, using 5-5-5-15 @ 720 mhz because some people said its because of memory :wtf:

what can i do to go higher than fsb=359?! cpu is B2 Revision.

Locked the PCI-E to 100MHz?

Georgian

yes, 100mhz, clock sync 33.3 or something like that, and had to rise NB voltage otherwise PCI-E worked @ 1x

little more info:
in bios:
cpu freq 359
memory 718
pcie 100
clock sync 33.33
spread spectrum disabled
mem volt auto
cpu 1.53
FSB term Auto
NB Vcore 1.4
SB 1.6
ICH 1.215

DOM

mem volt 2.1 or 2.15v
cpu 1.53 what doest it show in windows ?
FSB term lowest setting
NB Vcore lowest setting
SB lowest setting
ICH lowest setting

ok i'll set FSB term lowest, NB i wont set lowest because at lowest PCIE16x works @1x SB i'll set lowest ICH i'll set lowest.
everest cpuid shows CPU VOLT-1.496

Do you know what bios ver. your have ?

You dont have the Deluxe ver. right ?

Cuz most P5B dont have volts setting you must of been one of the lucky ones that have

and you might want to do the vdoop mod (http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=32773) its very easy

Don't have the P5B, but I know on my P5W there is a dead zone for many users from 360~399. I cant get stable in that area, but as soon as I try 400 FSB it is fine. I did have to up the NB and FSB voltage to get 400 FSB stable. I got 8x400 (3.2Ghz) w/ 1.65 vmch, 1.4 FSB Term v. and SB on auto, but may be slightly different on your board. Hope this helps, and good luck.

my p5b is no delux, its just plain Asus p5b
it doesnot have a dead zone, my last cpu was E6320(on this very same board) and it worked fine from its stock speed to 450mhz :)
on this cpu FSB 400 is still no boot ;( ill try 450 but i think its too extreme its ~4Ghz

btw i have newest available bios from asus

have you tryed more v-core ?

should i try higher volts?! is there possibility i could fry my processor????

what are your temps like ? im using 1.528v load on the cores are mid to high 50's and cpu is around 48 load but the room is kind of hot right now

whats is your water setup ?

Georgian
11-11-2007, 09:45 PM
well max temp recorted after 5 hours of OCCT 100% load is 43 grad celsius(on one of the cores). and my water setup is hand made. a succesfull experiment i can say :) if only overheat is risk of frying the cpu than i'll do it

DOM

what did you use for occt to read the temps ?

Georgian

i used Everest also tryed speedfan and Ai Suite but they only shows CPU temp not cores which is lower than Core temps

DOM

give it some more volts, dont go over 60-65c on coretemp on load and it wont brun your cpu if it goes over just stop it ;)
