right this is kind of me nearing the end of me and my laptop, i broke the power connector so took the mobo out and got a friend to resolder me one that works!!#
then 2months ago i put it back together and i can get it to pick up the hard drive, there doesnt seem to be a cable or anywhere for me to connect the hard drive to, can anyone give me some ideas?
the dvd rom slots into a connector but there is nothing like that for the hard drive!!
the only thing the hard drive has is a connector over the pins which then has some more pins!
i will post some pics, can anyone do the same and show how they think the ide drive should connect!!
if some1 had a samsung v20 or 25 that you would be perfect but any laptop would help!:)

Laptops don't usually have HDD cables, they usually slot into a connector, AFAIK.

i found a picture of my mobo on the net samsung v20!
and in red is what i think is missing maybe the not sure the picture isnt great, but that looks like some sort of connector is which case id be missing the plastic conector and a cable!
also in green is where the dvd rom plugs into, is there any 2.5ide to what ever kind of laptop dvd rom connector is?
Make sure you didnt pierce the HDD ribbon cable on re-assembly. It happens time to time.

some mobile mobo's have the ide connection built into thee mobo that in the shell allows direct plug in of the harddrive.

Looks like the plastic shroud is missing over the contacts. It likely hold the pins you need. Find that shroud.
