View Full Version : do i need to use p8 connector on my mobo
the specs are on the right. in my mobo i have 2 P4 slots and im using currently just 1. what difference would be to use a second P4 connector, and what does it actually improve/do????

I doubt it would give you more performance, in fact, I think that connector is for Quad-Cores, but I'm not certain.
ok thats what i tought. i quess i need it if im going SLI as it supplies extra power to PCI-e
it well help take the load off the one 4pin and mine has cpu1 & cpu2 on the 4pins
so it wont overheat and might melt when you put to much strees on the cpu
and its not for Q's it was out before they even came out but it well help oc it but its also the Phase Power Design which matters how high you can oc a Q
so should i connect the other p4 too?? the problem is that i dont have molex to p4 adapter so i have to make 1 in school.
