View Full Version : will new Q9450 need 750i

Hey guys.

Will...lets say an ASUS 650i be able to run the Q9450???? or will I have to buy a new 750i????

If it doesn't already, it should be able to with a bios update. I would recommend getting a new motherboard by the time it comes out anyway as the 650i isn't very good

hmm...now a friend has found a site where it claims the new CPUS only work with the P35 and X38 now. Maybe they will do?

thats for intel chipsets. at least 680i will handle the new intel procs. I quess the 650 will too not really sure tough....

That's true for some of the new Penryn line of Intel processors, but not all.

The QX9770 and newers processors that Intel is coming out with in Q1 2008 will require the X48 chipset MBs. But for the most part, less powerful processors should be able to run fine on 680i, X38

thanks alot guys. This makes me think...Iam only going to splash out 500 Euro for a new mobo, ram, cpu combo. I wont spend anymore than 250 for CPU, 100 for mobo and 100 for ram. I guess I will have to think about the E6850 or Q6600. Iam sure they will fair well tho :D
