I've used two HDTV's as monitors and absolutely love it, the only issues I have is normal size red text, say the size of the lettering of this post, is very difficult to read and unclear. Any other color is fine which is weird to me. I actually got used to it as I'm not often exposed to small red text, the only thing that comes to mind is the "Yell" in World of Warcraft, but I changed the color to deal with it. Still, recently I've become curious what is causing this and if its something I can fix.
I initially had ghosting on both HDTV's, but I realize it was because I had Noise Reduction on. The second I turned that off I never had any ghosting issues again. I'm wondering if this red can be dealt with as well. Bolder and larger red text is easy to read, its just red text the size of this lettering. Is it the resolution, the brand, another issue? I've had two separate TVs with the same issue, I've used multiple HDMI-DVI cables. I was thinking of investing in a 1080p TV to game and browse at 1920x1080. I took a screen shot of another forum which has red text, to me its unreadable. I imagine looking at this file from another computer it'll look clear?

your small red text shows fine on my samsung 40" here, at 1360x768 :P
I run over VGA instead of HDMI, because HDMI only lets me use 1280x720p and not the resolutions i need - if you know of a fix for that, please tell me (DVI->HDMI adaptor)

Maybe its just Olevia, both my TVs were made by them. But aside from this its perfect every other way. I think I might sell it and just go back to a normal LCD monitor, I miss the crispness.

yeah that red text is pretty bad. If you can help with my HDMI issues i'd be grateful, as i can only choose 720p as a res on both Nvidia and ATI - if i force 1360x768 it only works at 30Hz, not 50 or 60 :(

Hm I'm not certain, I never had any resolution issues. When I first built this system, it shows 800x600 stretched over the entire screen. Then after installing the drivers it was 1024x768 with boxes on the sides...then I just selected 1360x768 and all was well. In the Advanced nVidia Control Panel, in Display - Manage Custom Resolutions, I have Treat As HDTV unchecked, and Allow Modes Not Exposed By The Display checked.
Try creating 1360x768 as a custom resolution. In that same screen, click Create...Under Custom display mode values, put 1360 and 768 as the horizontal and vertical desktop lines respectively. GDI Refersh Rate should be 60 and bits per pixel 32. Click the Advanced tab and set the Timing standard to DMT. Click Test and see if it works. I've had to do that with certain resolutions not showing up that I know I can use.

I'm under vista and dont see those options. :( i think refresh for this screen is 50, which may be where it goes wrong.
