Earlier this year, I StumbledUpon a website where this third party team was working on a new GUI for either Windows Vista or Vista and XP...i dunno. It was something like that. Anyway, I cannot recall the name of the project or what site it was on. It was a very sleek looking GUI from the snapshots they provided on their website. I had made a post on their forums asking how the project was coming along, but a quick Google search on the username in which I thought I used brought up nothing. This third party GUI doesnt utilize (at least I dont think) StyleXP or anything like that.

It's really hard to explain and have you understand what im talking about.

If anyone has any idea as to what Im talking about, please tell me.

Thanks.

like they were working on skins for windows?

http://www.wincustomize.com/
they use a software package called starcraft or something like that to completely change your windows experience. i made my xp look like vista with it, everyone thought i was using vista, cause i even changed the startup loading screen to say vista, was preety cool :)

Kinda yeah. However, it wasnt on wincustomize.com or themexp.org. I had it bookmarked (or so I thought) once but I dont seem to have it any longer. :(

The only thing it changes is the GUI I believe. Im not 100%. I got thinking about it last night and couldnt remember all the details so I tried to look it up. No avail yet.

nice find dr.S, though it turns out to be the same thing as the wincustomize and stuff, you still gotta buy the whole starcraft package and stuff. =/

Yeah, VTP is free. Add StarDock to that and you can have yourself a pretty kickin' desktop!:toast:

I managed to just now find the site. All I did was a simple Google search on my nickname and up popped this site on one of the pages.

You do have to log in to actually view what it looks like though. Free account.

Try going to Favorites > History > last Week(or month) and checking for the site there.
You can even "search" History.

I don't use these programs, because they can do more harm than good, but I gotta say, that looks pretty darn good. It's like a cross between both Vista and Leopard.
