View Full Version : Weird sucking sound during ati tool 3d view

Im hearing a weird sucking sound when i open up the 3d view in ati tool. The sound is comming from the computer. the pc is prytty crowded so its impossible to regornize what it is any one got an idea?

i dont think so. even when i set it to 100% it dosint do that kind of noise

If your fan controll set to increse depending on temp, it could be a particular speed of the fan.(like 70% of full on, or something like that.)

Has to be the video card fan, ATI Tool cant change the fan speed of anything else.

NO its not It only does that sound when i open the 3d view i can set the value of the fans to what ever i want and it would not make that sound. when the 3d view is open the fan % icreases

have you tried setting your fan speed too 100% no mater what temp?

Has to be the video card.
What is your systen specs.

My PC makes sort of a sucking sound when playing games (3d apps) because the temps rises.

Use a GPU temp monitoring program to see what yopur temps are when using the specific 3D app when your PC makes that noise if you know what the max load temp of your GPU is.

Higher it is the louder the noise will be.

If it's crowded in there, you may have a cable restricting airflow on the video card intake and causing the sucking sound.

maybe cpu fan. try running orthos and see if you get it

the 3d view is the only thing i can get that sound in. no game will make that sound even cod4 at maxed settings making 15fps. when i run the ati tool 3d view the temp raises ,but when i play cod4 it raises aswell but still dosint make that sound.

whatever percent of the fan i set i wouldint get that sound back.

i get 80-85C in cod4
and allways run 100% fans when overclocked < only use in game

specs

athlon xp 3000+
ati sapphire x1600pro 512
asus A7N8 deluxe < i dont know if i typed it right but its similar
sound blaster audigy 2
antec 450watt power supply
