Well my choice would be the 8500 hands down.

I think im right in saying the 8500 also is quieter, draws less power and therfore generates less heat.

yeah by looking at thoes stats the 8500 whoops ass all time if i took the pc with the ati i was getting an extra gd of ram with pc for the same price thats probably to make up with the difference in the cards

2400 is useless.... It's slower then a 1300xt....
8500GT whoops it badly... Get a 2600pro now and you have another story.

ya I game on a 37" 1080p LCD, saaweeeeet.
Problem is you either need to:
set textures to mid or low
OR
have a high end GFX card (2900 or 8800) to run most recent games @ 1920x1080
And then you (almost) have to upgrade your gfx card every 14-18 months just to run at high (not even very high) at 1920x1080
But tis a beautiful sight...
and
Drugs are bad.....mmm-kay? :pimp:

I think it depends on what your doing with the card. The 2400&2600 are really geared towards media centers and for this I would pick them over the 8500. When it comes to DX10 gaming they both fall short IMO. AMDs upcoming 3840&3860 should be decent price/power card.

8500 is better then 2400. memory doesnt matter.
