i am a sophomore in high school and my grades arnt the best. about an 80 average. im good in math and science. bad with spanish and am alright with english. i am wanting to become a dentist but last night my parents told me that it would be very hard for me considering its taking me 30 mins a day for week to read 60 pages of Malcolm X. i still want to become a dentist but they think i should do something im interested in. i was thinking of going to vocational school and learn how to be an electrician because i am good with electronics. but then i thought about how it would be hard to find buisness and all that. then i thought what about computers. there going to be around forever and theres awlays a demand for the newer better components. i enjoy building computers and researching the latest hardware. what are some good paying careers that deal with building and repairing computers. there is a small place in my town called computer works that repairs computers. and they do charge alot but i dont think its nearly close to the amount a dentist makes. i would like to be makeing atlesast 150,000 a year when i am older if i am not a dentist. i reasearched wat a dentist makes and to start off its $135,000-$195,000 yearly. so after being established i would bet they can make close to $300,000 a year.

300k off anything doing only computer repairs and builds is basically not possible. Now, if you did something like all encompassing IT company which offers cheaper services than getting a dedicated IT department that'd be good. That kind of company would be great for small to small midsized companies. Now to make 300k working FOR someone...that's hard as hell for any job. Many couples (white collared) bring in 100-150k a year (middle class) before taxes...at least that's what I think...probably want to look that up.
I would say you need more than just computers, you need to be able to run a complete server cluster that runs off of unix using multiple kinds of raids and networking skills at the least. Than you also want to be able to interface your computer network into the telephone system. Just computers does you no good. I know it doesn't sound good but it is the truth. Think about the IT company....but you need multiple people because one person won't know how to do everything and specialties is the way to go. All in all the only way you'll make that kind of money is through IT, building comps is a hard buisness now. Oh and about your computer building myspace page....you have some pretty hefty overclocks there....I'd back off them a little if I were you, but that's just my opinion. Best of luck to you dude.
