Hey all, I've got a Sapphire ATi Radeon X1950 Pro AGP 512mb. I was wondering if Ketx's Modded X1950 Bios v1.7 will work. I dont want to toast my card :P

Well I'm pissed. After reading and waiting i finally decided to flash the bios with the 1.7 modded. It went ok and my computer was still working until i rebooted, then nothing, dead card. [Black Screen]

I'm currently posting from a copy of Windows eXPerience Live! [August 2006] i had kicking around. Obviously i backed up my original bios before any of this. Is there any way at all to get the original BIOS back on the card?

either go and buy a PCI card from walmart ( like $20) or you can try a blind flash!

Before you flash any new BIOS that increases clock speeds you should always try overclocking the card up to the speeds in the new BIOS and run stress tests. Every card is a little bit different, some can handle more than others. I'd also keep in mind whether the BIOS is coming from a modded card, ie. (Volt modded, aftermarket cooling, ect)

I do believe also the mod was made for PCI-e instead of AGP but its been a while since I had mine and looked in that thread to see if he made a AGP version.

Whats this blind flash?

you would have to know all the commands and be able to type them "blind" as you have no video to see what you are doing.

Its recommended to get a PCI card tho...like a mx4000 or similar that way you can see what it is you are trying to accomplish.

Could read thro some of these and see if you get a better grasp on things....http://forums.techpowerup.com/search.php?searchid=934670

*Sigh* theres always some. I said a lot of times the BIOSes were for PCIE unless stated otherwise.

sneeky, go to abits forums, I think gotwood has dealt the deathblow to abit to get them making a good BIOS for the AW9D Max ;)

Well I've still got the intergrated video up and running. How can i restore the default bios for the card?

should be able to flash while using onboard as long as you can set the mobo to boot onboard while the 1950 is still in the slot.

Use atiflash from DOS and you should be able to boot from CD just set it in bios to do so B4 the HDD boots!

Flashing from windows is a bad idea. Something simple with the OS goes wrong and boom bad flash. Always if possible do your flashes in DOS
