Argh, ok so I'm new here hi -ok-

I have a few questions for you all that are undoubtedly more tech savvy than I. First of all I'm looking into purchasing a decent (<Keyword) gaming comp. from Cyber Power PC, first of all is cyber power a reliable P.C. Maker? http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/ (I believe one of my old friends got his P.C. from them and said that he got exactly what he specified, no problems, I just want to be sure.)

Secondly, if they are reliable I plan on getting a Dual Graphics Card setup and I need to know whether to go with 2x NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 512MB (Would the XFX Powered version be that much better? It is only 5 dollars more so I doubt it, but still..) or should I go with 2x ATI RADEON HD 2600 XT 256mb?

Nvidia Dual Graphics Mobo > (Socket AM2)GigaByte GA-M57SLI-S4 nForce 570-SLI Chipset DDR2/800 SATA RAID PCI-Express MBoard w/GbLAN,IEEE1394,USB2.0,&7.1Audio

ATI Dual Graphics Mobo > (Socket AM2)Asus M2A-MVP AMD 480X Crossfire Chipset DDR800 Dual PCIE SATA RAID MB w/GbLAN,USB2.0,IEEE1394,&5.1Audio

The system will have 2 gigs ram and a 250 Gig 7200 RPM hard drive…
Chances are the system will be run on Vista Ultimate, but possibly XP home…
AMD Athlon™64 X2 5200+ Dual-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology (2.6Ghz)

That looks like a mess of crap guys but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated… Again I’m just looking for a decent comp that I might upgrade. (Ram and such)

Thanks again guys.

I would say do some research and build your own, that's what I started doing years ago, now I can build a PC that will fit my needs at a budget I can handle, if I need more performance, spend some more on cooling and get a lot more performance out of it, to compare with a lot of pre-built pc's.

Read up on those components, PC's aren't exactly cheap, and if you want it to last, you need to figure out what you expect your PC to be capable of, how long you expect it to last before upgrading again, etc. Trust me, it helps to know, that's what I finally did, was sit down and search a lot on Google, and spend A LOT of time reading and learning about what different PC parts do, what to look for, what to watch out for, etc. We can all suggest things, but in the end it's your money and your decision, so please do yourself a favor and attain as much knowlege as you can stand, take notes, etc. You're on the right track, but I think you'd be better off building your own. PC's are not that complicated to build and maintain, if done correctly (which really isn't hard...). Oh and welcome to TPU!

Hope that helps! :toast:

Cyber power is pretty reputable, it's still better to build it yourself with parts from Newegg.com though. As for the dual video cards, I would go with a single powerfull video card. 8800GT, 8800GTS, HD2900 pro/xt, HD3870 would all be better options than two 8600GT's or 2600's.

If you are dead set on the 2 cards, I would go with the twin 8600GT's.
