Well, I am kind of ignorant when it comes to HDTV, HDCP, DVI, all that good stuff. I just recently built my new computer, the graphics card is a 8800gt evga superclocked and the new monitor is a LG with the following:
• 1680 x 1050 Resolution
• 3,000:1 Contrast Ratio
• Certified for Windows Vista™
• 2ms Ultra-Fast Response Time
• FLATRON f-Engine™
• 300 cd/m2 High Brightness
• DVI Input with HDCP

Now, it doesn't *really* matter how I hook it up to my graphics card, does it? What I'm trying to say is, are there different ways to hook it up? I know you can get converter cables, etc...what is the *best* way, will it be just using DVI?

Thanks, and pardon my ignorance on this subject.

DVi would be best, it will give you the best quality.

seconded - especially if you're going to go for any BluRay or HDVD players

HDMI is the best, it carries the same digital signal as DVI, but it also does sound as well. though its not worth getting an adapter over, since im sure you dont plan on using the sound part of it.

The monitor doesn't have built-in speakers, so you are correct. :)

I use VGA... poor me... DVI cables cost money which I must save to get rid of the horrid tpu ads.

svideo.com, i've bought some great dvi-hdmi(http://www.svideo.com/dvihdmi2.html) cables from there, top notch cables(similiar to monster quality) for very cheap.

I'm sorry to keep asking questions...but what are the differences between the cables, and which one should I get?

Thanks :)

the type (some are analogue, some are digital, you want dual link digital dvi (dvi-i) i think.) and quality
