I am not a sensitive hearing guy, but this bitch screams! Glad water cooling goes in soon, one last part!

I think single slot coolers are usually louder. I know the single slot cooler on my 7900 GT was really loud..it had a small fan too!

single slot-louder
smaller fan- louder, usually because it runs at some stupid high rpm.
that all goes out the window with the x1900xtx..and the 2900 xt.. both...way WAY too loud

Hehe, you aint heard nothing till you have heard a 2900 XT. The 8800 is more annoying though as it's higher pitched.

From a review I've read, they said that an 8800GT is louder than a 2900, both at full speed. My old 7600GT was really annoying, really high pitched and loud, so much worse than the stock fan on my X1950 PRO, at least that fan was relatively low pitched.

At 61% the fan is pretty tolerable in my system, but over that it starts to really whine.

I wouldn't be able to stand that fan, my freezer 64 pro at full speed really bugs me, and that thing is silent compared to every stock video card fan I've ever heard.

Nope. I had both and the 2900 is certainly louder.
