Most users with memory problems found their solution at the Newegg Site under reviews for that mobo;

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16813128050&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&SelectedRating=-1&Page=1

Here are a couple of the solutions;

I had the same problem as cougfan at first. When I powered it up the system would come on for 3 seconds, would not post, then would shut down. It would repeat this over and over again. It is a memory problem. MAKE SURE your memory is good and is installed correctly. If you are using multiple sticks unplug the machine and take it all out. Only put one back in (again, make sure its in correctly). Power it back up and if you have it right it will post. Now your ready to rock and roll.

Here's what you do about the boot problem. When it starts turning on and off, cut the power switch and pull the plug for about 10 min. It will come back on at stock settings. Not sure why it does it but here's the cure!

Hello Richieb0y

Sorry for my english, I'm from France :)

I found this thread via google since, yes, I have the exactly same problem as you. My mobo wont start at all 90% of the time when overclocked. And when it starts bios is refreshed.
However when I managed to boot WITH overclock it's rock stable. :confused:

So.. basically I came here to give some support and maybe try to find a solution.

But I have something more now I think. Just found it few minutes ago. Now my mobo starts with overclock with any settings I want..

Unplug ALL USB Devices when you boot!

I'll be looking forward for the news.

Alex

I seem to be having a similar problem. Only my mobo doesn't do the power on/off cycle if I do a mild overclock (e.g. +10 Mhz FSB), but when I view CPU-Z after boot, it shows stock FSB. I have C1E and EIST off and it is stable under stock settings. The weird thing for me is that I did 333 FSB from 200 and it was stable under Orthos for 1 hour and I played TF2 for 4 hours at those settings just fine. Did you guys figure anything out yet. I'm gonna try unplugging USB stuff to see if that helps. I'll post back if it does.

Sorry but this usb solution didnt work for long.
Finally bought an asus p5k, a C2D 6300 1860@3360Mhz works rock stable like a swiss watch, no boot problems, no problems at all.

All that I ended up having to do was reset the CMOS with the jumper. After I did this, my settings worked perfectly. It was one of the weirder problems I've had. I've overclocked to 3 Ghz from 1.8 and it's been running Orthos for about 10 hours so far so it seems to be fairly stable. I just hope I don't run into any more problems like this...
