with ATitool it shows the chiptype : RV360 but on ATI Tray Tool its : RV350??
when i did the "find max mem" on atitool it went non-stop till 702 mhz.. it seems weird so i stopped it.. any1 got tat high? well i haven't reach the max even at 702mhz for the mem.. HELP PLS is it normal??

Well that's probably DDR speed, because at 702mhz (1.404ghz) I WOULD BE THE PROUDEST GAMER ON EARTH. 702mhz is about 351mhz without DDR, so yeah you can keep going because I'm pretty sure, although I didn't think 9550's were built to keep going like that, it's not unsafe. Unless the software isn't actually tuning the card somehow, you've just got a really rare, really lucky card that can overclock better than great. What was the stock speed on ATITool?

ATI Tray Tool[ATT] : General
Display adapter Radeon 9600XT (4152)
Core Name RV350
SubVendor GeCube\GeXCube\GIGACUBE (18BC)
ATITool : CAtalyst 5.4
Device Id : 4152
Chip Type : RV360
Stockspeed : 425/200
the RV360 n RV350.. any differences?? why it reads as 9600 by windows and 9600XT on ATT
SOmething is very wrong here.. i use the ATI Tool to find for my max core : it stops at 468mhz after like 1 hour AND the max mem was 999mhz after 45minute
2005-08-12 04:01:53 Scan aborted. Total runtime: 2528 seconds. Artifact-free: 2528 seconds. Core: 418.50 Mhz Memory: 999.00 Mhz
2005-08-12 04:01:56 Scan for Artifacts started... Core: 414.00 Mhz Memory: 994.50 Mhz
What is happening!!! it cant be 999 without ddr as the stock was 200mhz[should be without DDR] because if its with DDR then my stock is what?? 100??
PLEASE ANSWER ME SOMEONE

Your card has the 9600XT core, even though it's a 9550(this is good). 9600XT core run 500mhz stock, so with good cooling you should get somewhere close, maybe higher.
If your ram really did hit 999mhz DDR, that is awesome. I would try to go higher on the core though, what kind of cooling does it have?
Stock 9600XT's and pros have 600mhz DDR ram.
I would look at your memory modules, and write down the manufacturer and model numbers and do some research.

its a K4D551638F-TC50
i've read about it.. and its stock only 200mhz.. how come mine went up to 999Mhz on ATI Tool.. i swear its true..

that is beacause that is the frequency range to overclock to and i bet you have set the memory speeds 2 ddr so if you got 702mhz it will actuly behalf of that which will be 351mhz because not even the lastest ati cards can reach them kind of speeds yet

This is what happen, first of all.. i dont even know how to set it to ddr or vice versa. I cant even find the option in ATI Tool to set whether to read in drr or without

Secondly, i try the "find max mem", aint ATI Tool looking for the max mem speed on my card and not showing me the frequency range??

urmmm that is very strange have you tryed the lastest ati tool what ever version that is if not there is something wrong with your graphics card because its not giving out the output

yesterday i ran the "find max mem" this is what i get :
2005-08-13 01:59:08 Clocks set to: 414.00 / 994.50
2005-08-13 06:00:49 Scan aborted. Total runtime: 16637 seconds. Artifact-free: 16637 seconds. Core: 424.80 Mhz Memory: 999.00 Mhz
A total of 4 HOURS++
WHAT IS WRONG!!
LOOK at the pictures.. cut em into pieces coz file size too big

well to be honest ive never herd of a 9550gt but even thou you just showed me them images is the clock actuttly set and there is no way a 9550 can get to them speeds can you tell me the stock speeds of your 9550gt or email me at kbisjb07@hotmail.com

and try other programs to overclock and see if the result is the same

have you try playing a game with these settings of crazy memory like half life 2 or something demanding to see if the card can hack the strain at this crazy speed but im sure it its not them speeds i belive the core

Okay guys, well let's think logically. No graphics card is going to go much higher than stock (more than about 100mhz), and obviously no card, especially a 9550, can get 2ghz (DDR) out of the RAM. Freakz, you're right, 200 is stock, not DDR, so that means that ATITool reads it as stock, not DDR. I think there's just something wrong with ATItool and your card. The Catalyst might be out of date for ATITool too. Download another overclocking program maybe, just keep trying different ones. It's obviously not doing anything to the card, maybe it gets stopped somewhere along the way and it just thinks the card is doing that speed, so it keeps going higher. Anyway, it's the software's problem, sorry dude, but the good thing is there are other programs out there.

Hi freakz,
I think we got the same situation here.
I have Gecube 9550GT 128MB R9550U - C3H. It's rated at 420/200 also.
It has some s***ty elixir -6. I cannot believe it but -6 memory runs at 200 Mhz.
Using Atitool I got the same reading as yours. Core RV360 ID 4152 Radeon 9600 series.
The core would not go byond 470 Mhz using Atitool. The weird thing is the memory.
Just like you it reaches 900 Mhz or so. I did not beleive it but its true!!
I tried my brother 9600PRo with my PC and it started producing artifact at 330 Mhz.
So what the hell??
BTW one time I stopped Atitool when the memory reach 700 and then run 3DMark 2001 SE. No significant gain whatsoever over 200Mhz. Even my bros 9600pro show 300-500 improvement when its memory runs 30Mhz over stock (300Mhz). Even on Atitool 3D view i could see jumps on fps when overclocks. Its not happening on my 9550 GT. Even at 50Mhz memory overclock Atitool fps number wont budge. it stays 43-45 fps on my pc.
Also, I noticed a rather low score on 3DMark2001 SE Nature score, only 42 fps while other similar PC with 9550 can reach 60fps. Also low scores on Fill Rate Single Texturing around 500ish while other 900. Point Sprite 10 fps, others 14 fps. Even a 9550 with 3DMark2K1 score of 8000 beats my Nature numbers. I scored 10352 on 3DMarks. Can you elaborate on my number freakz?
One more thing, I dumped the bios using Atitool then I opened using Radedit 1.1D. Under memory it says SDR ! and Post DIvider it says PD=3 (DNT!).
What all these mean? That I got a SDR card?
But, it runs games okay though. I have not had any problems running games.
