Hi Everybody!

My last thread was about the new vs. the old motherboard BIOS. I flashed the newest, and notice that the DDR run only at 333 insted of 400. Now, I put back thel old one. The DDR is at 400, again, but I cant overlock the CPU, whats more, I cant change latency time, RAS to CAS, etc. Overall, Im not sure, but maybe, it was faster with the new version BIOS, even with 333Mhz? (of course it was overlocked)

So what du U think? A sure 400, or a (maybe) faster 333? - unfortunatelly havent benchmark the system :(

Thanks

If you have an Intel based system the 400 will work better. They like bandwidth, AMD's tends to like timings more than Intels. But you can't run you ram at 400 with a "newer" bios?

yeah that does sound a bit weird...
what kind of board and memory are you using?

on intel cpus always the higher bandwith of the higher mem clocks are needed in amd case you should let your cpu and memory run 1:1 for best performance

Do what I did and run the ram at 333mhz and overclock the system to compensate. I'm running 10.5x 243 to get 2.55ghz, and my ram being set to 333mhz runs at 392mhz because of the upped bus speed. It's not quite 400mhz but you're never going to notice the difference of 8mhz.
