hell no, 2 was the best . it was the first one to incorporate pre rendered cut scenes and has a great storyline :), resident evil 3 was good, but nothing can compare to facing william for the first time :D, it has two cd's leon and claire, on claire's you faced william but on leon's you faced the tyrant o.O

Resi 2 was the most scary, resi 3 was the best for firepower and blowing the shit outta stuff :D resi 4 was ok, but just didnt have that resi feel to me.

i think we shouldnt let the oldies die :(, the old games dont have the graphics they do today but the gameplay made up for it :)

CLASSIC GAMES FTW!!! :rockout:

totally agree, mainly because these days all anyone focuses on is graphics and tends to ignore gameplay that is not true for all the new games just most of them, overall i think i play more old games then new ones like goldeneye the original res's perfect dark mario and all the classic that caused me to fake sick so many days of school the original half life was one of teh worst for that :)

me and the girl have her old pentium 3 rig so we can still run diablo II and the red alert games on it :D

so the latest is #4? i've never played the resi games at all, any reccomendations (nice graphics would help.... i feel bad playing old games on a GTX :P )

I vote for part 1, was amazing in its time. Actually took me time to play through back in the days, RE2 was so much easier.

if you want good graphics and quite a good story to it, go with resi 4 :), the first resident evils looked like this :p

Played it, it actually was great, expected it to suck. Controls were bad, however I eventually got used to them. They didn't bother to actually change the control buttons and such to PC buttons, had to figure them out yourself.

resi 4 is great to play still. just dont expect much in the way of freak mutations. if u like freaks an graphics that arent too horrible try code veronica. if you want a game with nothing but quality freaks gotta be resi 2 or 3.

HEH.
I have Resident Evil 1 (Director's Cut), Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3 for the playstation.

I used to play them when I was young, like 5, and they didn't phase me. Now that I'm 15, they actually put fear into me.

Perhaps some emotions are learned over time, and are not automatically there when you are first born.

wow RE1 needed a 3dfx or powevr of 4mb just to run, so it was amazing in his time, when the psone was better than pc´s

the graphics may be old, but when you start to play you forget because of the fun

i think it´s best to have the psx games and emulate them in epsxe, so you can get high resolutions and save everywhere, and use pete shaders to get a better quality

I've got the original Resident Evil on pc, cardboard boxed mint condition too - the system requirements are laughable! Sadly it doesn't run on XP or Vista - something to do with DirectX5/6 lol

Remember House of the dead? That was entertaining to. :)

the original half life was one of teh worst for that :)

Yeah, I missed weeks of school (Total) playing half life and its mods. less for Renegade,Quake 2 and the like. Half Life...I missed so much, I failed language in 7th and 6th grade, that game did some serious damage (although none of it has any repercussions because nothing I did in middle school seems to have carried over)

Yeah I had it emulated, i think it was for Sega? Not 100% where it was emulated from..

Remeber it was released in 1996, back in the day of the early 3d accelerated cards. It even pre-dates Windows 98!

Sadly it's also just too old to run in DosBOX - unlike Resident Evil's predecessors Alone in the Dark 1(Which I also seem to have lying about someplace)
