The last several ATI driver packages failed to install correctly, so I recently switched to Omega's driver packages. With these packages is the Ati Tray Tools program. After my computer suddenly started locking up, I found out that the tray tools program had been silently overclocking my Radeon 9800 Pro from 378 MHZ core to 392 MHZ core, and 338 MHZ memory to 344 MHZ.
I uninstalled the Omega driver set and the ATI Tray tools program and installed the normal ATI catalyst driver set (no CCC, I do not like it).
I have discovered by using EVEREST Home Edition that my video card, however, is STILL OVERCLOCKED! I use tools like AtiTool 0.24 to set it back to normal clock speeds but after every reboot my video card is overclocked AGAIN!
Is this because Ati Tray Tools set some registry setting to overclock my video card? Please help me fix this! My video card is way too hot overclocked! I'm sick of the lockups!
Please help!
