Bored today so I thought I'd figure out a question I've had with OCing.
This also is intended to help ocing n00bs gain more info since lowering somethings when OCing can actually make a PC faster.

These are my default clocks as my mobo OC's by default.

RAM clocks are at at 2.0-3-5-3

This is my OC at the moment as an example.

RAM clocks are at 2.5-3-5-3

As you can see the CPU is slightly faster:-
2.45Ghz > 2.47Ghz
CPU Multi:-
x12 > x11

Memory is faster:-
204Mhz > 225Mhz
HT Multi:-
x5 > x4

I have already tested this and know the answer but I'd like to test your guys knowledge.
Which setting to you guys think would be faster regardless of how much.

The real question would be:
Which setting to you guys think would be faster regardless of how much in application X.
Some applications gain from lower RAM latency (tCL2 vs. tCL2.5), some gain from raw CPU speed (2451.8MHz vs. 2477.5MHz) or even RAM speed (204.3MHz vs. 225.2MHz).

Setting A could be faster in application Y, whereas B would certainly be faster in application Z

So what your'e saying is niether is stronger than the other.
Instead it's more like the first setup will be stronger in one app than the second setup and vice versa?
