Do I need a processor with bus 800mhz or greater?
cause in the bios the min fsb it shows is 200mhz??

The bus is quad pumped, 200x4=800. :D

Do some more reading in some guides, you'll get there, just don't get too hasty...you don't want to harm anything. Check out those links Nam provided.

I now that it is quad pumped,

I got processor with bus 133MHZ(533 QP), and in bios I cant go below 200MHZ FSB,

There's no such thing as a p55-v?

first line of his post corrects that to a P5K-V:D

Need more info from you end...you gotta help us in order for us to help you solve this situation. You gotta be able to provide us information, if you do not have it or know how to get it, start reading the guides in this Overclocking and Cooling section , your owners manuals, use Everest or SiSandra to find out more specs on what you have, etc.

Does your system boot with your 533fsb processor? If it's a newer MB it may not be compatable with a processor slower than 800FSB. Check your MB compatability in the manual or on the website, use google. You may want to get a newer CPU to be more compatable for that board and it's overclocking utilities, or an older OC-ing MB that supports that processor. I am unsure of the P5K can support overclocking or supporting that chip...but I hope you can get it to!

Hope that helps!

Its supports my processor with full stability without oc.

I have Asus P5K-V which supports older as well as the latest 45nm processors.

Its bios has the overclocking features.

By Typing this into Google Search: Asus P5K-V CPU Support

I found this site:
http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ASUS/P5K-V.html

But you can go to http://www.asus.com.tw/

And find your MB for Asus' official CPU support for that MB if you need. From what I am seeing on the list, your chip is not supported...too old. Sorry man. It may have overclocking features, but not for your chip. Don't expect to overclock with anything not on that list, or asus's official list. If you cant get it to POST at 200 FSB from 133FSB, which would be a pretty hefty OC for a P4 (higher vcore and really good cooling would probably be needed), then you'll have to sit with stock speeds until you can snatch a good C2D for cheap.

Ok, do you have all the necessary stuff turned off, such as cool and quiet, unnecesary stuff, etc? Set memory voltage to stock, processor to stock (not auto). Pci-e frequency should be at 100 (not auto).. I'll post more when I think of more. I'm going to try to find screens of your bios.

 A P4 - BX80547PE2667EN is a 506.

BX80547PE2667EN - INTEL CPU Pentium 4 506 2.66GHz FSB533MHz 1MB

Your CPU is not listed as supported CPU's but it may still work.

If it does not supports my cpu then how I am able to use it?

Yup every thing is set to stock,

"P4 - BX80547PE2667EN is a 506" I dont know about it, but my processor number is 505

Your cpu works, however the board runs at higher frequencies than your processor is intended, which is why it wont overclock. If I were you I'd go and find the cheapest core2 you can find. e4300 4400 4500 etc.

Proper processor detail

@erocker: That was, what I was asking a few posts ago, that if it not overclocking due to low frequency, The lowest possible frequency it shows is 200MHZ

I wonder if your proc is already oc'd with the fsb at 200? Yes, 200 is the lowest your mobo can do.. that's why it's really not compatable with your processor.

smartali89

Its not already overclocked, I had to change the settings of Ai Overclocking to Standard so that my pc works fine ,

So, what is your processor running at in CPU-Z?

smartali89
12-18-2007, 06:25 AM
2.66GHZ 133 MHZ FSB 533 MHZ Rated FSB,,

and one more thing I have DDR-II 667MHZ , so its speed should be 333 MHZ? but in CPU-Z it shows 133 MHZ

Processor 04A Not Listed...

I think that I will have to upgrade my process having FSB 800MHZ or Greater...

That's a ...7E not a ...7EN. Slow down...its easy to get things wrong and that can mess your day (and your computer).

It's still not on the CPU support list...so it may well run, but it wont run well.
