Hi!

I again need your help - I got 2 sticks of ValueRam both 1Gb - Elpida stands on the chips - and with default voltage (speks 2.6-2.7) the only get a little bit warm - with 2.8 they get noticeably warmer

Here a pic that you see how my cooling is

11155

I can adjust the 12cm fan handing infront of the CPU and ram with a zalman fanmate and itīs a super noisy (when not slowed down with the fanmate) but powerful sunon.

By the way i only a monent ago had the idea of installing that 12cm fan - and i am having 2 Wunderbaums for quite a long time hanging in my case.

It depends a lot on the chips. Write down the numebrs from the chips and see if you can find anything in a Google search. Assuming this is DDR (by the default volateg you posted), it can really be all over the place. I know some high quality chips (Winbond BH-5 and Hynix D43) could take as much as 3.8v by manufacturer's specs (for the chips themselves), but most memory stick makers stay well below that. Usually 3.3v max.

Ok here first the data from the stickers:
"Kingston KVR", P/N "9905193-135.A00LF", S/N "unimportant", Type "KVR400X64C3A/1G"
Then the data from the chips:
"ELPIDA TAIWAN", "D5108AFTA-5B-E" and below it "0712A90J7"

I had a set of Corsair ValueRAM (before they dumped Infineon) which could take 3.2v but needed active cooling.

I got a second set of ValueRam about a year later which used really shit chips that wouldn't take ANY extra voltage without pissing itself.

I put the numbers "D5108AFTA-5B-E" into google and got this

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=D5108AFTA-5B-E

Start looking through those and see what others are using them at.
