3D detection and 3Dmark01 still an issue :(

Hi W1zzard,

translation by wizzard: he likes atitool very much but pcmark02 and 3dmark01 stopped working with 0.0.22 - when atitool is running both cant be launched

having a "bigger" Problem with the vers 0.23b..
When i make a Artifact Scan (not the find max) with my x800proVivo@XT,
at normally 100% stable Clockrates, after a while (15-50min) ,the Scanning ist freezing with blackscreen!
And after reebot from this freeze with blackscreen my Monitor frequenzy is falling back from 85hz to 60hz!
With one of the betas i have this before ,that the Monitor Screen Settings are gone...

With the final 0.22 ,everything is OK and the Scanning is working well, and for me i can really fine see if the OC is stable...

is there anybody who have such a Problem too ?

The 3Dmark01 startup issue that NukeTimer describes only effects startup. If ATItool is stopped to load 3Dmark01, it can be restarted and the 3D detection and all other functions work fine from then on. (x800xt) However there is no problem starting 3Dmark03. I find this a very small inconvenience considering the tremendous benefits ATItool offers.

ummm not playing with the beta .. but thought i would ask about having the ability to change the system tray color for temp monitoring?

MinuStrike
09-08-2004, 10:03 AM
this CAN happen easily, just change the font color from the temperature monitoring tab
(you'll have to click where it says font)

Could you do a little AA on the temp font in system tray?

Or super sampling like rendering it twice the font size and scale it down.

the mem timings change is not permanent .. you set them .. they are kept until reboot .. if you reboot everything is back to default ..
would you add a button to read the default values without reboot?
i think that is useful...

thanks anyway.. :)

Does VPU recover restore the values? Could you have a button that triggers vpu recover?

Having another column in that dialog that showed what default setting is would be nice.

I think laying out the dialog box differently is necessary. I've never like it how it is, and I've been wondering for weeks how to change it. A friend of mine suggesting splitting all of the settings up into two columns (so now we're at two colums of two columns) . This would make a wider dialog box, and it would be a lot more readable.

To explain my idea more clearly- Have a title across the top, and 4 columns below it, columns 1 and 3 being settings, column 2 and 4 being IDC_STATICs that just show the default settings. Keep the warning going across the bottom.

W1zzard, can you add a function to this beta in order to set custom mem timmings as soon as atitool is loaded?

Tnx man, this software rules :) :)
