you need am2+ for phenoms dont you
:slap:
it will work on AM2 boards but you need something like an 8mb bios chip or some shit to run the Phenom. Phenom requires one hell of a BIOS update.

There isnt a bios release yet, and according to this (http://us.dfi.com.tw/Product/xx_product_spec_details_r_us.jsp?PRODUCT_ID=4716&CATEGORY_TYPE=LP&SITE=UK) the board only has a 4mb bios, so it looks unlikely, though whether boards do actually need an 8mb bios or not remains to be seen (the 8mb thing may have been a very conservative estimate by an amd chap)

Flash the BIOS and you're good to go.
But you'll need a BIOS update from ASsUS first. Many AM2 boards take in a Phenom after just a newer BIOS
:banghead:
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
It can't run phenom. BITCHBITCHBITCHBITCHBITCH

no, most AM2 will do just fine, just be sure it has a bios update ;)
they mey need a 8MB bios but its only a 64k code or something :P
but it just comes down to ask you motherboard manufacturer and ask if it will support, i know that nvidia 420 chipset or something is phenom ready
can you give us the maker and model number ???
AM3 phenoms (DDR3) should work just fine in AM2+ & AM2 sockets to hehe :nutkick:

...and here I was thinking a Phenom could do just fine on any AM2 board with a fresh BIOS. Everyone hammered me with this...Phenom goes on AM2!!!!

Well technically Phenom can run in any AM2 board, it's whether or not the manufacturer chooses to support them on older/cheaper boards.

From the DFIClub Forum:
Got this in update email today. LP NF590 SLI: 2007/12/12 testing XP 32/64bit are working , but Vista 32/64bit OS installation is fail.
So they are trying to move forward with what legacy motherboards they think will run the phenom. Will post bios link when one becomes avaiable.
