X800 to something more Plan

Okay after reading a lot of threads in different forums about this question so forth but here my plan to flash and unlock the pipelines for the Sapphire X800 SE GDDR3 256-bit graphics card.

Diagnosis
1. No lasercut on the GPU
2. R420 GPU
3. 256MB DDR2 Memory
4. Voltage not too sure (I think the AGP is 0.8v)

Proposed Plan
1. Use ATITool to determine the max core/mem frequencies
2. Use RaBiT to alter existing max core/mem frequencies
3. Flash the BIOS to a X800 XT with those altered frequencies
4. Check with ATITool that it has been flashed correctly and monitor

This is just the generally outline of it. The only problems I have is that I am confused with voltage increasing (pencil mod?) and how to actually unlock the pipelines. By me flashing the X800 SE BIOS that should unlock the pipes right?!? Also apparently this can be done with RivaTuner but I cannot find enough information about this.

Also any recommendations on any good coolers would be awesome. I'm already thinking of heatsinks for the ram but I need a decent VGA cooler on it to get it to the core speeds of the the X800 XT. Can anyone point out any flaws that they might be able to see.

I can recomend a ArticCooling Ati Silencer 5 rev.2. Nice and quiet cooling there.
And i have also a x800 se @ 530/530 so i will follow your tests.
And btw, the AC Ati Sil. 5 rev 2 mounts on my x800se, and so did my old ati sil. 4. 5 is only mounting better and get better contact with the memory.

looking at all the pictures where the laser cut is suppose to be yeah it doesn't have any. If I can get a picture of it I will post it up. But it definately looks like there is no laser cut.
Oh yeah it is ddr3. Sorry mistype.

I'm pretty sure there's no laser cuts. I have take photos of it but I don't have them with me at the moment cause I am at work. But the laser cut is definately not there.

Alittle edit aswell. I ran the artifact tester on the latest omega drivers and I got the core to 506mhz for 36 secs before I stopped it. It didn't display any type of artificats at all. I havent test out the memory yet.

btw id flash with this bios its the moded one that was used in that other thread i linked to you

btw it is true that ses dont unlock but the ones ive seen have hav lasercuts ;) lol but none the less you can still flash it to a x800xtpe with that bios i posted :)

See I'll be happy with that even if I don't get the unlock pipes would be nice but I'm not really expecting to get 4 good pipes out of it.
I just order some Artic Cooler ATI rev 5 v2 so I can do some more serious test on it.

Unfortunately I dont have a scanner. So can we tell if this is going to work before i try it?

520 core 500 mem (xtpe bios) (moded for compatability with 2.0ns ram :))

yeah I did order the Silencer due to cost. The Zalman is more expensive where I am. Should do the same thing.

BTW i was thinking of using a XT bios but I wanted to lower the speeds down with Rabit. Pros/cons?
I'm guessing I can up that once it's modded anyway. right?

well id recomend the bios i provided cause the card is for all intensive pourposes rated for those speeds (technically) you should be able to oc from there ;)

sucess probibliity:

flash: 80%+

pipes: idono im thinkin that its still pretty slim:( 20% maby? and only 20% cause there is no lasercut which may imply that the pipes are not locked (but it is verry likely that they are still locked in the core itsself)

if it was my card id flash it with the bios i gave you and see if that unlocked the pipes if not i dont think there is going to be much more you can try :(
maby riva tuner but by all rights that shouldent work in that case :(

sorry to say but your probibbly gonna hate that scilencer :( if there is any way to return it id highly recomend it i have one and id rather use stock...

i bought it when my stock broke and the day i put it on i could tell it was only going to stay there ultill i could find a replacement :(

but you can always try unlocking them from riva tuner before the flash to find out :)
