Well i updated my pc in the last few weeks and just wanted to share this beautiful moment with you guys.:p
I got a new mobo. The MSI P35 Platinum.
Really a great board. Maybe the heat pipes are a bit over the top. But they do a good job cooling the motherboard. Very easy to overclock with this board.
The only thing is that i cant find any settings for the command rate for the ram.
Also i scored a new in box Q6600 G0 for cheap.
It's a animal this cpu. With the new Thermalright Ultima 90 i got it to 3.8 on 1.4625
Idle temp is 38 and load temp is around 50.
When setting it back to my daily oc, 3.4. i have to set the voltage at 1.4 and the temps drop to 35/46. That with an ambient temp of 21.
For the ram i ordered another 2gb Crucial Ballistix PC5300 to match the pair i already had.
I don't notice much difference when overclocking with 4x1 gb.
But i can't really say because i did not have the cooler installed at the time i only had 2gb.
To end this i also planning to change the dvd burner to a Sata one because i hate the IDE cable.:D and i want two sets of the Thermalright HR-07 duo ram coolers.:)

have you tried changing the SPD of your ram to 800/1066 and seee if it would clock higher

Have it running 1000mhz with 5-5-5-15 now.
I don't want to push the ram to hard on 2.3v.

be careful with that voltage on the ram, it looks like we have the same ram and i fried mine with that much voltage. I love crucial, they replaced it for free :)

Did you cool it? How much are you giving it now?

nice system man :toast: just need to get me a quad core and maybe another 2gb of ram before my pc is set for a year or so, that ram should be good at those timings and speed with around 2.1v anyway as the timings are quite loose no need for more voltage unless you really wanna squeeze every bit out of tyhose stix as you can although i would reccomend some good cooling to do that, i can run mine at 1200 with 2.35v but have only ever done it for benching

Fook I put 2.4V through mine whilst benching, Micron D9's are supposed to love volts.

lols, i have shot 2.5v thru my ballistix tracer 8500's. i made a cooler for the ram outa spare parts and they dont even get luke warm now ;) got pretty hot on stock voltage when i first installed them.
I guess freak just had bad ram, as its perfectly fine putting 2.4v thru em for regular use as long as u gots decent cooling on them.
p.s nice looking rig, sweet cable management

Hi.
I bought here in Holland for €100.
And no Crossfire or SLI for me. My 8800 GTS 640 works fine for me.:D

Yeah, was just asking. Thinking about going yorkfield or wolfdale? I have been contemplating it but I think I will just save my money use it for a better motherboard and get an e2140 instead.
EDIT: Antec 900 is such a nice case too! Although, their are too many on the forums that have one, How good is the airflow?

Yeah that is why i modded mine to.
Airflow is great. But i am looking for a Silverstone or Lian Li case.
Something with better build quality.
I will keep this setup for a half year and then i will switch again.
